I absolutely cannot believe it's here already. Halloween. Really? That means Thanksgiving is around the corner and then CHRISTMAS! Which then means Christmas shopping. EEEK.
I feel like it was just yesterday that I moved to Denver.... nope it was almost two whole months ago. Where has time gone?
This weekend my sister Katie came to visit for the first time from Oklahoma City. I'm trying REALLY hard to convince her to move here :) After having her here for a few days and being able to just hang out and not have to worry about entertaining her because she is pretty easy to entertain in general was a relief.
This was the second Halloween weekend we've celebrated together in the past few years and this year proved to be much more successful than the last.
First, our costumes this year were AWESOME! Second, she got to hang out with all my new Denver friends and see some hot spots in downtown Denver.
Now I am DYING to show you our costumes, BUT, I will have to wait until tomorrow's ICUC with the Halloween theme. For now... you can have a sneak preview.
Not great quality but fun shots from my iPhone serving as my digi cam at the bars!

Party Rock - Halloween Style!
The BF showed me this video the other night and I just about died! This is one of my favorite songs from Summer and now someone has made it even better! They upped the ante and made it Halloween themed.
How cool is this?
How long do you think this took them to put together and film though? This takes some major talent I'd say.
Just thought I'd share this awesome video with you all to kick off your weekend! Hope it's a party rock kind of weekend with Halloween just around the corner!

Fall Snow
Literally.
It's still Fall and it snowed in Denver today.
I don't know what I had in mind when I moved to Denver as far as the weather. I had heard it was sunny over 300 days of the year and that the winters were much better than KC, so I went with it. Wouldn't you?
Welp, when it was 80 on Monday and I saw that it was supposed to be in the 30s (yes I said 30s) and SNOWING close to 8 inches. I thought ha! They said that all the time when I lived in KC and it would snow an inch.
Not here. It snowed 5 inches in Denver! Close enough to 8 for me considering I wasn't expecting snow for at least another month!
What's even more crazy... the leaves were still green/orange/yellow pretty Fall colors!
And here we have it folks... the first official Denver snow. At least it's pretty!

I See. You See.
Jumping right in today, Meggy and I went with the theme:
Downward Angle
I drive around in the mountains all day every day so of course I naturally wanted to take pictures from the top of a mountain. However, with one week's time I just couldn't squeeze it in without hiking over my lunch period.
With that being said, tonight I freaked out because I wasn't sure what I was going to show you all being the procrastinator I am. Enter WALT. It's our five year anniversary celebration tonight (it was on the 21st and we are just now getting around to going to dinner to celebrate). I opted to go with the downward angle of taking an "anniversary picture" of ourselves (we do it every year). I especially love this picture because it shows off both of our blue eyes.
Now what did Meggy see this week from her downward angle?

Last
week you got to see up my nose, this week the view from a top is a bit more
artsy. Well, if blurry means artsy, then yes. But I love all the
colors looking down - my poncho over my baby bump and yellow shoes blurred out.
This photo reminds me of Fall. All the bold and bright colors.

Football vs. Tailgating?
Which do you prefer?
If you ask me, I'd hands down say tailgating :) No I am not a lush.
One of my best friends, Sarah, visited Kara and me this weekend from Portland, OR. Her BF went to CU and seeing as they were now living in Oregon they thought it only to be fitting to come to the CU vs. Oregon game Saturday.
I had already committed to a party bus (yes I am still going on party buses and I'm 26...), so didn't get a chance to drive up with Sarah, Kara and their BFs so I was oober excited to hang out with them when they got to the tailgate. After everyone decided it was time to go into the game, and I knew Sarah and Kara would be outside tailgating, I opted to trade my ticket to Sarah's BF, who went to CU, to stay outside and tailgate with the girls.
GREAT choice considering CU got pummeled by Oregon and I had a great time with my girlfriends.
So there you have it - tailgating with great friends vs. watching the actual game does have more benefits form the way I see it!

Awkward and Awesome Week
No matter how tired I am right now, and no matter how bad I want to be in bed, I wanted to get my A&A post in today because I actually made little notes something awkward happened to me this week! I knew if I ever wanted to be decent at these Thursday posts I would need to start writing stuff down, otherwise I'd be staring at my screen for an hour trying to remember what happened that day, not even able to recall the past SEVEN days!
Awkward:
- Waiting in line to return something at Ikea this past weekend and an Ikea employee basically plows me over not watching where he was going. I mean body slammed me!
- In Ace Hardware parking lot I was busy paying attention to what the people next to me were doing to their car that I put my car in drive and ran right into the big cement parking block. Of course the strangers I was watching were not watching me!
- Watching someone who shall remain nameless try and show me how much "easier" it was to speak into their smart phone as it typed for them. 15 minutes later the two sentence text was complete after multiple backspaces and repeating themselves. It took everything in me to be like yaaaaa that looks handy. NOT. I'd rather call the person at that point.
- The second picture above. I was trying to be ultra awkward when trying to pose with Tori dog because she wouldn't sit still so I figured if I sat still so would she!
Awesome:
- After a nice banquet tonight I was ready to get out of my Spanx so I opted to remove them while going through the parking garage because I was SO uncomfortable. The feeling was AWESOME to be free from those things!
- My friend Kristin was in town from KC with her hubby Adam and their golden retriever Tori! See the first pic! She's cute isn't she? They got this amazing deal at this resort/outdoor person's dreamland not too far outside of Denver (well kind far about 4 hours), but totally worth the stop in Denver last night. Hence why I didn't get around to a post yesterday.
- Finding great finds at Nordy Rack. Every single time I have been there in the past I have never been able to find anything. This time I found two pairs of shoes, a running top, and a work top (lame I know). Cha- Ching!
- My sister booked her flight to come see me in a week. I am SO excited for her to visit me in Denver and visit Denver for the first time in general. Wahoo! Hope I can convince her to move here. Crossing my fingers.

I See. You See.
YIPEEEEE!!! It's almost hump day! Part of me feels like this week is dragging on and the other part of me wonders what the heck happened to Monday and Tuesday. Ever have those days?
For today's theme Megan and I went with "low angles." When you think of low angles do you think of something looking up or looking down at something? We had to have a quick chat about what exactly the plan of attack was for this one.
For me, lately I have had this weird fascination with just laying on my bedroom floor and playing with Mia. My bed is about one foot away and for whatever reason I decide to lay on the floor. I think it's because now my apartment is carpeted, whereas before I had a grungy carpet I've had for years laying on top of my wooden floor and it just wasn't the same OR comfortable.
So when I was laying there earlier this week I thought, "hey, this counts as a low angle!" BOOM! Got it!
I love how it darkens everything except the bright lights. I must admit I didn't mean to do this :) But I like it.
Now for Meggy... here is what she thought of when we decided on low angles:
I was trying to show off the bump from a view below, but the picture turned out a bit different. I swear I wasn't trying to show you up my nice, but at least I'm boot free! So here is my self take low angle shot for this week.

Bracelet Swap Numero Dos!
I loved it the first time so I did it again!
Meggy from ChasingDavies hosted her second friendship bracelet swap and I couldn't wait to be a part of it! I had so much fun the last time making and getting my bracelet, I had to partake. However... I did not take the fact I was moving, starting a new job, trying to get my life organized in general while maintaining some sort of social life. That aside, I made a commitment and I knew I wouldn't regret it so I took the dive and signed up for the swap.
My partner... Suzy from Bichonluvr's Closet. She's from Virginia which made it even more fun! I've never met anyone virtually or in person from Virginia. Now I have a new blog friend there!
With both of our schedules crazy busy we agreed on pushing the date back a bit so we could give our bracelets the dedication they needed. I took a trip over to the local Ace Hardware store and went to town. LITERALLY. I came out with more nuts and bolts than I needed for five bracelets! Typical of me.
Welp after looking at Megan's bracelet Pinterest board, I got a few ideas. I loved making the last bracelet I made for GS Lillian based on Honestly WTF's DIY guide, so I opted to try it out again but get the right supplies this time. Last time I used the wrong thread and leather, it turned out decent, but I wanted to do it RIGHT this time!
After finishing that one up, I was still in an artsy mood so I made another bracelet for Suzy. Megan made this one a while back and said it wasn't too hard to make, so I gave it a shot.
You'll have to pop over to Suzy's blog to check out the final products.
Now for the best part.... What Suzy made me! Would you believe it was the same bracelet I made for her! The Honestly WTF Wrap Bracelet. How funny! What was even more crazy, I decided to make mine a double wrap bracelet. Last time I tried the one time wrap, and went crazzzzzzy this time around! She did the same thing! Great minds think alike I guess!
Without boring you too much about my obsession with this bracelet swap I'll show you the final product form Suzy.

PINK!
It's every where I look these days. I was lost today, as I am most days being in a new city and my job being in sales driving around all day, and stumbled upon this cute little shopping area... I think it was in Lakewood, CO... or maybe it was Littleton. Eh same difference at this point. It's a point on the map that takes me anywhere between 15-45 minutes to get there. While my iPhone has proven to be quite the helpful tool getting me around Colorado these days, it still has some flaws here and there. But what can I say, without it I'd be even MORE lost.
But sometimes being lost isn't so bad when you find cool places like this!

Awkward and Awesome Colorado
So after doing two of these "Awkward & Awesome" posts I've decided that I really do like them a lot. They make me re-examine my week that has blown by and actually help me remember that it's almost Friday!
Awkward:
Awkward:
- Waking up this morning (Thursday) thinking that it was Friday! Ugh... I hate when that happens and it's been happening all week....I've been a day off every day when I wake up.
- Walking out of a building today looking at something on my phone and being so distracted that I completely tripped down a curb and with a girl walking behind me and trying to pretend she didn't see it... girl pretending not to see me trip and almost REALLY hurt myself... it happens all the time I am not embarrassed I'm just awkward!
- Walking with my friends this past weekend and tripped over a VERY tiny crack. I mean so tiny I have no clue how I completely lost balance and used my friend as support to make sure I didn't topple over in front of a restaurant. Yes I'm clumsy can you tell?
- Being so dang tall. I'm 5'9" and I LOVE heels. My job entails me to meet new people every day and over the past two weeks I've had numerous people A) Ask how tall I am B) Tell me that I'm so tall I don't need to wear heels be(cause they were clearly not comfortable because I was towering over them. This also includes a very old man looking up at me shaking his head saying you don't need to wear those things your already so tall! Yup, no idea who that man was.
Awesome:
- Downtown Denver! I went down there for dinner last night and they have beautiful lights streaming across the streets (see picture above). It feels magical!
- The BF is finally all moved into his apartment (three buildings over- same complex as me)! Seeing him is so much easier than driving 20 minutes. I know 20 minutes isn't terrible - but since he was up the street from me in KC, 20 minutes is like five states over for me now!
- Feeling a tiny bit more comfortable with my new job. Every week feels so different, but a good different. It's nice to feel like you've got a handle on things every once and a while. While it's not even close to where I'd like to be, conquering each week feeling like I've done a better job than the week before feels AWESOME.
- Being in L.O.V.E. Don't you just love those moments when you have the most perfect kiss with the person you love the most. I get them A LOT :)
Happy Thursday and almost Friday friends!

I See. You See.
I just love Tuesdays! First of all, I have a dedicated post every Tuesday so I am forced to constantly be searching for the next ISUS picture. Second, I get to see Meggy's view on our theme which is always fun especially now that we live in two different places!
So onto the most important part. The theme.
This week Megan sent me a list of different ideas that we could choose from. After looking through the list I liked the idea of something simple but something that could be totally different depending on the way each of us thought of it.
Our theme this week was: BLACK & WHITE
I wasn't nearly as creative as I'd like to have been when taking this picture, but I couldn't resist. Yes dangerous of me taking it WHILE driving (ooops), but it's hard NOT to want to take pictures all day long with my job. I'm on the road for a good portion of it, which is completely different than being behind a desk/indoors beforehand. Every where I look I see mountains and a beautiful view in Denver. It really is amazing and I am so glad I am doing this job here instead of in the panhandle of Oklahoma!
Here's Meggy's take on the theme this week. She went all creative on me and is showing it off double time with TWO pictures! Go her!

When
I think of black and white these days, two very important things come to mind.
My beloved 8 year old little puppy who is black and white all over, and
is quite curious lately with all the changes happening around the house.
Those changes? The growing baby boy I'm carrying around (2 months
to go!) and his evolving nursery. That nursery is taking on a black and
white theme of it's own, inspired by my pup. So today, I have two
pictures, because these b/w things in my life are very important!

Yummy Yummy in my Tummy!
Yep that says it all for my evening tonight. I hosted my very first work dinner tonight and it was a SUCCESS! I took a group of people to Del Frisco's and it was so delicious. This restaurant is the best steakhouse I've ever been to. Walt's parents took me there for the first time a few years back and since then I've compared every steak I've ever had to this place. Hence in the movie "The Law Abiding Citizen" Gerard Butler's character asked for a t-bone steak from Del Frisco's as he was stuck in jail... that's because it's the BEST! Seriously... if you live in or near Denver and/or Dallas I believe you ought to try it out.
I'm not going to lie it's on the pricier side, but worth it I promise.
Funny story about this picture (well as funny as a picture of napkins can be)..... I thought I had told the group dinner was at 5:00 p.m., little did I remember I had said 5:30... oops! I showed up at 4:45 waited for 45 minutes because I'm an idiot. I sat at the bar like a goober sipping on my water because I didn't want them to show up and me sitting there three glasses deep in red wine, so I opted to make myself useful and take a picture for my blog post tonight :)
Oh and if you do go... try out the filet mignon oscar stye! Yum. Yum. Yum!
Hope you're all having a happy Monday night!

Apartment Therapy
Moving to Denver was one thing.... but having to decorate my apartment has proven to be more challenging than I anticipated. I have a few things where I want them in terms of decorating and such, so I thought I'd let you into my apartment while I work on making the final touches.
Introducing..... my BATHROOM!
Sorry this has to be the first room of the tour de Laura, but it's the only one that's really "finished."
Now get this... it's ALL from Target! I made about 10 trips in one week. There is no way to actually walk out of that place without buying SOMETHING. Point and case is me walking in there to return something today and coming out with a loaf of french bread. Now why I needed a loaf of french bed I don't know... but I bought it and i will enjoy every bite of it :)
Hope you're having a great weekend friends!

Awkward & Awesome Attempt
At getting back into a routine. Like I said, with all this moving and new job stuff I've tried desperately to get this routine going. So here I am with my second attempt with "Awkward & Awesome Thursdays" starting by The Daybook.
AWKWARD:
AWKWARD:
- Being in week two of my new job and feeling completely and utterly lost. I had been at my last job so long I forgot what it was like to be "new" and trying to learn the ropes all over again... I wish I could click my ruby red slippers and magically be six months in the future so I can be over this phase of my job
- Sitting here trying to remember awkward moments of my week, but even sitting here for 20 minutes staring at the computer cannot remember my week for the life of me. If just got away from me! Ever have those weeks?
- Being in Target with my friends Kara and going to the red phone to get help with a "team lift" on a desk I wanted to buy, I call the line to get assistance, and the recording said someone would be there in 60 seconds.... I turned to Kara and laughed that they actually thought someone would be there in 60 seconds (it sounded to fast), to be mid-sentence and have a Target employee standing right behind me. I turned bright red of course!
- Being introduced to someone through a glass window..... He waved.... I waved and smiled and he waved again (btw he is old)
- Sitting on my couch writing this post (post-workout), and Mia (my kitty) jumps up behind me sits down and starts licking my face (yes... she was licking sweat) - SICK!
AWESOME:
- Working out again - someone consistently!
- Family dinners at the BF's parents house - living away from home for so long and actually having a family (well his family) to see weekly is refreshing. Gosh I wished my mom and my sister lived closer to me
- Catching up on all my shows this week after weeks of getting behind - holler at my Glee, Grey's, Private Practice, and Vampire Diaries fans!
- Being ALMOST moved into my apartment - still have some boxes to go and building a desk (well Walt is doing most of the work)
- Grace (white little pup above) and Mia (kitty) are buds. She normally hides from dogs but was apparently okay with Grace Face. My favorite is the last photo when I was trying to get a pictures of Mia and Grace popped her head in the pictures, she reminds me of her mom and my bestie Kara
- That tomorrow is Friday and I am so excited for the weekend!

New York! New York!
So these posts have been a little backwards to where the heck I've been for two weeks. But I forgot that I took these pictures when I was visiting NYC with my new co-workers during our free weekend while we were at training.
With my last trip to NYC being somewhat taken over by that false alarm of a hurricane (Irene) and not being able to see Times Square, I knew I HAD to see it while I was in NYC for a second time. Obviously there is a lot build up around Times Square and how great it is yada, yada, yada. I had this idea in my head something fabulous was going to happen when we were there, like see ANOTHER (ha) actor/actress. Nope we didn't. But I will say this.... it looked AWESOME. Just being there I felt the energy of all the tourists and the true New Yorkers. I probably won't be back there for a while now that I've seen it, but I would recommend you at least stop by for a few candid photos if you make it to NYC in the future. It's worth the trip.
Welp, that's all for tonight folks. My first night our in Denver, gotta make it a good one!

I See, You See.
Here we are again my friends, another "I See, You See" for this week.
Our theme: FALL
With the seasons changing we thought it was only fitting to choose a season as our theme this week. The beginning of October to me means the weather is starting to cool down, leaves are changing colors, swapping out my Summer clothes for Fall/Winter clothes, getting to wear boots (one of my favorite things about Fall), and football.... well... tailgating (although I don't get to tailgate like I used to when I lived near KU).
When Megan suggested that we do Fall, at first I was going to do someone falling.... then as I was at the BF's parents house I noticed beautiful trees/leaves changing colors all around, I HAD to include the weather change in my picture for this week!
Now Meggy took a different approach...
My favorite thing about Fall is switching out my closet to get ready for the new season, especially breaking out my boots! I have a lot more where these came from, but these are my favorite boots that will get me into Fall and through winter. My favorite thing to wear boots with... tights! Bright colored tights. We'll see how I'm able to do that 8 to 9 months pregnant this season!
Hope you're all having a great start to your week! Does this post get you excited for Fall? Tell us about it!

Sadie Baby!
I'm not going to lie.... I'm pooped.
I am pretty sure the moving to a new city, starting a new and completely different job, and moving into my apartment has finally taken its toll on me. BUT.... I love you all so I am staying on top of my blogging. I need some routine in my life and since working out hasn't been working out (no pun intended), I am looking to my blogging for some routine.
Keeping today simple today after going through my weeks of photos that I have been building up since I was MIA, I stumbled across this cute photo of my friend Katie (KJ's) puppy I housesat while I was staying at her place in NYC when she was out of town. Her name is Sadie and she is a a cutie pie!
