Hi Friend! Long time no see. Sorry its been a little boring around here lately. With the job search going strong and otherwise trying to keep myself occupied without spending money during the day I have been a little boring. I would hate to bore you with rants about how my cat is spoiled, how I eat a PB&J with a cheese stick every day for lunch (healthy I know...), and the weather. So I opted to share when interesting things happen to me and try my best to stay on top of ICUC (hence I am a little late today - but late is better than never sometimes!)
Ok... onto ICUC.
Seeing as yesterday was V-Day as all of you may know (and sorry to those who are already trying to forget about it), so our theme we went with was "red & pink."
For me, the hilarious card I got Walt with a PINK heart on it along with the fact it was even funnier when we guzzled down some RED wine was my choice for this week. Check em' out.
For Meggy, she was just about as jazzed as I was about the holiday (seeing as I waited until the last minute to buy the BF a gift), she went with the alternative for the big day:
I'm not a huge Valentine's Day fan, but do enjoy the holiday for a great excuse to wear a bit of pink and red (together)! Here's a bit of my outfit, which you can see the full thing over at Chasing Davies.
So what fun an exciting things did everyone else do? Check back tomorrow for what I ended up getting Walt and what he got me!

I See. You See.
What better time to throw out the "drink" theme than now? This week's ICUC is "What we're drinking."
With Super Bowl this weekend, having friends in town for skiing and entertaining, and making dinner tonight. I'm not going to lie... I definitely had more than a couple of drinks. Can you guess which one I did not have a drink for...? The Super Bowl. Yup, sadly I didn't' get around to watching it this year. But I did win the bet with Walt that the Giants were going to win.
As for Meggy... since she can now have a drink here and there, this is what she saw this week:
What I consumed this weekend... Okay, not all of this is mine. We had friends over for a big basketball game Saturday, but I did enjoy a beer then and again during the Super Bowl game. Yes, two beers in a weekend is a lot for me right now. I'm slowly getting my mojo back after 10 mos (and a precious baby) of not even a sip! What is your favorite adult beverage?

I See. You See.
A little delayed this week.... but we still wanted to share our shots that we got this week.
The theme this week.... SHOES.
Can't ever have enough of them in my opinion. They are the things that will grow old with you (if you have decent fashion sense), they will fit you even if you gain an extra 15 pounds (don't go overboard), and will almost always get a great CPW (cost-per-wear) out of them. While at home this weekend I stumbled across these puppies. Micheal Kors on SALE! My sister also fell in love with them so we BOTH got them - Thanks Mama!
As for Meggy...
Rain or shine, I'll be wearing my new shoes often! Red glossy Hunter boots are now mine! I've been wanting these bad boys for a long while and finally did it... Do you have a splurge item you've been wanting or wanted?

I See. You See.
To brighten up the little funk I've been over the past few days I thought what better to base today's theme on then "color."
Color always brightens my mood and makes me happy. I get into funks where I just wear black, white, and grey and realize it days afterwards because it was reflecting the mood I was in.
So color it is.
My picture came from our new "dinner club" we are forming at my friend Rachel and Annie's house. Rachel hosts the blog Reckless Abandon Cook that I love and get a lot of recipes from. Since basically none of our friends really know how to cook more than a baked chicken or pasta, we have challenged Rachel to teach us some of her cooking magic. Tonight it was cod with some orzo. Both new recipes for me! It was light and yummy and your should definitely stop by her blog to check out the recipe!
As for Meggy, she went to what she is known for best. Her amazing fashion sense.
A colorful closet is a happy closet (in my book). This is my new skirt to add to my already colorful closet. You'll have follow my blog along to see when and how I wear it! ;)
Do you all get in a better mood when you wear colors???

I See. You See.
New Year. New Pics.
With 2012 already three days in {amazing isn't it?} Meggy and I are blowing full steam ahead with our ICUC pictures. Now, here is the kicker, to keep it up we are ALWAYS looking for more ideas and themes for pictures. Think you have a good idea? Shoot an email to lmajor9 at gmail.com or post a comment!
So back to the reason why you are here. The theme! Today's theme is but of course related to NYE.
For me, as I talked about yesterday, I had an amazing time in Winter Park with my friends! After vegging on lots of junk food, and drinking non-stop I am ready to kick my working out into full gear. Today was my first time to work out since before Christmas and BOY did I feel the weekend running on my back! Anyone else having this problem getting back into the swing of things?
As for Meggy, let's see how she brought in the new year shall we?
My last purchase of 2011 were new Kate Spade booties (on sale, too!) which I promptly wore that night with my NYE outfit. I like to think I started the new year with my best foot forward (and toting around a newborn).

I See. You See.
And we're back!
After a short break and a baby Meggy and I are back in action for our weekly ICUC.
This week's theme: CHRISTMAS (of course)
So instead of showing you what I got for Christmas this year, I thought I'd show you just how weird my sister is :) My sister is OBSESSED with boston terrier dogs. I mean obsessed. Not only does she have one pair of doggy p.j's but she asked for more dog p.j's (specifically boston terriers) for Christmas. I refused... but my mom fell weak to my sisters insane obsession and gave it. The awesome sister I am (no really I am....right, Katie?) I went with an iPhone clutch from Michael Kors knowing my sister needed a new purse and I LOVE coming up with great gifts to give as a surprise.
Which do you like better??
Now for new mommy Meggy.
Mommy's lil elf. My Christmas revolved around my best present ever...
Cute isn't he? Oh little Liam how I wish I could hold you here in Denver with me! But for now I will just follow along on your mommy's new baby blog!
Don't forget to share some of your ICUC theme ideas with us! We love the challenge. Email me at lmajor9(Dot)gmail.com or tweet me and include #ICUC.

I See. You See.
Everyone ready for Christmas? I sure AM! Well... sorta. I am still slacking on my Christmas shopping and to top it off I also have to Christmas time birthdays to shop for as well. Eeeks. Better get a start on it!
For this week's ICUC, Meggy and I thought it fitting to go with a holiday theme:
The First Signs of Christmas
After looking around on Christmas lately, I've seen beautiful pictures with Christmas lights. With people, pets, trees, houses.... But what about just the lights themselves? They are so pretty when all lit up. Alone they make it feel like Christmas.
What's looking Christmas in Kansas? Well why don't I let Meggy tell ya?
The very first signs of Christmas...snow flakes are falling, real and faux! The last couple of years, we've collected these LED lite up snow flakes to adorn our house around the holidays. Something a bit different than the rest of the houses on the block, plus mixed with a fresh dusting of our very first snow, quite fitting!
So what do ya say? Let's all get in the holiday spirits shall we?

I See. You See.
Tis' the season for the F&F (food & family)!
This week's ICUC, gives you a snapshot of our favorite parts about our Thanksgiving holiday this year.
My favorite part was actually being able to contribute something to our Thanksgiving dinner(s). I made my very first stuffed artichokes! Yum! I have always been a fan of artichokes, especially stuff ones that I usually get at either a restaurant or my Nanna's house every Christmas. This year, my mom thought it would be a new little treat if we made our own this Thanksgiving. We actually made three so we could continue the yumminess over a few days and share with friends.
As for Meggy, she took it ALL in with her lens!
This year our family Thanksgiving was huge! It seemed everyone was in town, so there was tons of food that covered the 10-person table. Some of my Thanksgiving favorites are sweet potatoes, meat pies and stuffing. Mmmm, now if only I still had leftovers...
I hope everyone got their fill of Thanksgiving and family because we only have a little over three weeks to stuff our faces again and revisit those embarrassing moments we may have said after too much to drink :) You know we all did/said something stupid to be brought back up again at Christmas time for a good laugh!

I See. You See.
With the holidays right around the corner, Meggy and I opted to do something a little easier this week for our ICUC.
Theme: Fruit
I wish I ate more fruit. This theme would have been A LOT easier. However, one thing that I do consume a good amount of that was helpful for this post... WINE. It's made out of grapes, which is a fruit, right? One better... boxed wine! A current favorite of mine pictured below. I cheated a little can you tell?

I See. You See.
Megan had a great idea last week. She texted me and suggested this week's theme as 11.11.11 at 11:11. Now whether that was at 11:11 in the morning or 11:11 at night was up to us. Want to see which one we chose?
I went with 11:11 am, considering I knew I'd be in a car on my way to KC and nothing about me being exhausted and taking a picture from a car would be that exciting. So I opted for a morning shot. Not saying that this is the most interesting photo I've ever taken, but it not only represents 11.11.11 at 11:11 am, but it represents my day about 5x a day. Lots of Starbucks runs :)
Now for what Meggy was doing at 11:11!!!

I thought shooting a shot at 11:11 am
or pm on 11/11/11 would be so neat, but then I realized how lame my life really
is at this point. At 11:11am I was at my messy desk working and at
11:11pm I was laying on the couch watch a movie with my husband. So you
get to see the lazy side of my life and my husband (well, the back of his head
that is). Hopefully you all did something way more fabulous at 11:11 on
11/11! I at least did make a wish. :)

I See. You See.
Phew.... Tuesday is almost over. It's weird how it's already Tuesday night and I'm so excited for the weekend ahead. I'm going to KC for my friend Angela's wedding! I cannot believe it's been over two months since I moved from KC to Denver. Part of me feels like I just left, partially due to trying my damndest to keep in touch with my friends I left there.
Moving onto the theme for this week's ICUC....
Theme: DAILY ROUTINE
We all have one or many of them. For me before I leave the house my MUST is brushing my teeth. Even if I was all dolled up and ready to go if I had that sleep breath before I left I'd just die. I can't imagine it smells to go nor could I imagine someone else thinking it smells too dandy. Bleh! So one of my many routines is brushing my teeth after I eat breakfast - not before- AFTER. I think it's so weird when people brush their teeth before breakfast! Sorry if that is one of you out there.... it's just how can you possibly enjoy your breakfast with toothpaste taste in your mouth?
Now onto what Meggy's daily routine is:

Every morning I'm usually in my retro-pink (in other
words, yet to be renovated) bathroom using the same products I use every
morning. I start with my favorite face wash, Purity by Philosophy, and
face moisturizer, Clear Complexion by Aveeno and then move into make
up and hair curling. It's like ground hog day in this bathroom!
What are so what are some of your favorite daily products?

I See. You See.
Playing off of yesterday's Halloween post I'm excited for today's "I See. You See"
The theme: HALLOWENNNNN
Thanks to Jenn for suggesting this theme
Yesterday I gave you a sneak peak at our costumes. Today is show and tell! For the telling part.... Up until this past Friday I had zero intension of dressing up for Halloween weekend. I hate the idea of paying $50+ on something I will wear once, most likely ruin or lose it in the course of 12 months until the next Halloween comes around. That being said, once I heard that the rest of our group was planning on dressing up, I knew I couldn't go out in normal clothes. I called my sister and gave her a warning that we would have to scrounge for a costume when she got into town on Saturday. She didn't like this, but went with it.
We ran to the local Spirit Halloween store and went searching. We walked in and the line to check out was all the way to the back of the store a good 30 minutes long. So we immediately knew we had to pick out something fast! Basically everything was picked over not leaving many options other than being a slutty bumble bee, or a Glee cheerleader. That is until we saw the "Wet T-Shirt Contest" costume! It included GIANT fake boobs, a see through shirt, and a sash saying "Wet T-Shirt Winner." It was in our price range and after trying it on over my shirt and getting some weird looks we knew that is what we wanted to be.
We got all dolled up and out we went. We went out not anticipating much reaction out of the costume assuming someone else had the same one since it was mass produced. Little did we know that we would be felt up 100s of times! Majority girls.... which was just weird. But apparently people loved it! Who knew!!? What do you think? Think they look real??
My boobs are a little cockeyed (hence why I won the wet t-shirt contest), but overall my favorite costume of all time! These puppies may just be incorporated in next year's costume.
Now for Meggy's take on this week's theme. She went a little more appropriate than I did :)

I'm sitting at home handing out candy this year, but
munching on my favorite seasonal snack: peanuts & candy corn! I allow
myself this perfect mixture of salty & sweet around Halloween every year
(with a few candy pumpkins, too, but those are long gone)! What is your
favorite Halloween or seasonal treat??

I See. You See.
Jumping right in today, Meggy and I went with the theme:
Downward Angle
I drive around in the mountains all day every day so of course I naturally wanted to take pictures from the top of a mountain. However, with one week's time I just couldn't squeeze it in without hiking over my lunch period.
With that being said, tonight I freaked out because I wasn't sure what I was going to show you all being the procrastinator I am. Enter WALT. It's our five year anniversary celebration tonight (it was on the 21st and we are just now getting around to going to dinner to celebrate). I opted to go with the downward angle of taking an "anniversary picture" of ourselves (we do it every year). I especially love this picture because it shows off both of our blue eyes.
Now what did Meggy see this week from her downward angle?

Last
week you got to see up my nose, this week the view from a top is a bit more
artsy. Well, if blurry means artsy, then yes. But I love all the
colors looking down - my poncho over my baby bump and yellow shoes blurred out.
This photo reminds me of Fall. All the bold and bright colors.
You can see more about this outfit here.

I See. You See.
I just love Tuesdays! First of all, I have a dedicated post every Tuesday so I am forced to constantly be searching for the next ISUS picture. Second, I get to see Meggy's view on our theme which is always fun especially now that we live in two different places!
So onto the most important part. The theme.
This week Megan sent me a list of different ideas that we could choose from. After looking through the list I liked the idea of something simple but something that could be totally different depending on the way each of us thought of it.
Our theme this week was: BLACK & WHITE
I wasn't nearly as creative as I'd like to have been when taking this picture, but I couldn't resist. Yes dangerous of me taking it WHILE driving (ooops), but it's hard NOT to want to take pictures all day long with my job. I'm on the road for a good portion of it, which is completely different than being behind a desk/indoors beforehand. Every where I look I see mountains and a beautiful view in Denver. It really is amazing and I am so glad I am doing this job here instead of in the panhandle of Oklahoma!
Here's Meggy's take on the theme this week. She went all creative on me and is showing it off double time with TWO pictures! Go her!

When
I think of black and white these days, two very important things come to mind.
My beloved 8 year old little puppy who is black and white all over, and
is quite curious lately with all the changes happening around the house.
Those changes? The growing baby boy I'm carrying around (2 months
to go!) and his evolving nursery. That nursery is taking on a black and
white theme of it's own, inspired by my pup. So today, I have two
pictures, because these b/w things in my life are very important!

I See, You See.
Here we are again my friends, another "I See, You See" for this week.
Our theme: FALL
With the seasons changing we thought it was only fitting to choose a season as our theme this week. The beginning of October to me means the weather is starting to cool down, leaves are changing colors, swapping out my Summer clothes for Fall/Winter clothes, getting to wear boots (one of my favorite things about Fall), and football.... well... tailgating (although I don't get to tailgate like I used to when I lived near KU).
When Megan suggested that we do Fall, at first I was going to do someone falling.... then as I was at the BF's parents house I noticed beautiful trees/leaves changing colors all around, I HAD to include the weather change in my picture for this week!
Now Meggy took a different approach...
My favorite thing about Fall is switching out my closet to get ready for the new season, especially breaking out my boots! I have a lot more where these came from, but these are my favorite boots that will get me into Fall and through winter. My favorite thing to wear boots with... tights! Bright colored tights. We'll see how I'm able to do that 8 to 9 months pregnant this season!
Hope you're all having a great start to your week! Does this post get you excited for Fall? Tell us about it!

I See, You See.
Hey There!
I'M BACK!
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I went to training in NJ for the new job, made a short trip to NYC over the weekend (amazing most awesome pic to come tomorrow!) and then I got back to Denver to immediately turn around Friday to go to Estes Park with some friends for horseback riding, and then moved in Sunday and here I am Day 3 with the new job finally able to catch somewhat of a breathe.
I will update you on my whereabouts and some of the pictures I was able to take while I was incognito.
But now back to the Tuesday "I See, You See" posts. I feel awful I wasn't able to keep on top of these the past couple of weeks, but what's a girl to do when there isn't internet access?
This week's theme: SWEET
To me I immediately thought of this little puppy's picture I took while at the ranch in Estes Park for horseback riding. She was so adorable, sweet, and everything in between. Those light blue eyes just blew me away. After getting her to sit still for about two seconds I got the SWEEEETEST picture of her. PS if you want to know she is an Australian Shepard and she was three months old.
Oh go ahead and stare at her. She is adorable! Makes you want a puppy doesn't it :)
Meggy's take on something sweet this week was....
Looks soooo yummy (and sweet) doesn't it???
Hope you are all having a good start to your week. I promise to be more dedicated now!

Meggy's take on something sweet this week was....
I'm a sweets-aholic to a fault! For example, I was at some of my friends' engagement party this past weekend and was immediately drawn to these beautiful cheesecakes. Not only because they were so beautifully done and decorated, but because I wanted to stick two forks (one for me and one for the baby, of course) in them and start tasting them right away! But I made my husband proud and withstood until the future bride and groom went through the line, then there I was next to get that taste! (The raspberry cheesecake was delish by the way).
Looks soooo yummy (and sweet) doesn't it???
Hope you are all having a good start to your week. I promise to be more dedicated now!

I See, You See.
Let's pretend today is Tuesday shall we? Let's also pretend that I didn't' say the theme was food for today. At my going away party last week Meggy and I were throwing ideas back and forth for this week's ISUS and I completely forgot we changed it from food to....
BITTERSWEET
Obviously my head needed a couple extra days to clear things up before I started to post again don't you think?
Any who, I have the perfect example of bittersweet in my opinion. Of course it is related to the fact I just made one of the biggest life changes to date. On my last night in Kansas City, some friends, Walt and I went to dinner. They surprised Walt and I with something very sweet, but also bitter since it was just a reminder that we really were moving and weren't going to see all our good friends as often. Would you believe when I lifted it up to take another picture after this the cake completely fell off the the plate onto the table.. yep that is bittersweet too :)
As for Meggy, she had a clever bittersweet picture this week too!

Ooops, this long weekend made Tuesday a hard one! It came and went and I missed getting my photo ready for our weekly I See, You See. Apologies! But better late than never, my bittersweet moment this week: the weather. Love fall so much. It's my favorite because the comfortable temperatures, clothing options, layers, jackets, fresh air, being able to be outside, I could go on... but the falling temps also scare me! That means winter is closer. Terrible snow storms, ice, freezing snot under my nose when I try to go outside, you know - the usual. Winter I do not like. So fall, I love you, but you are bittersweet to me.

I See, You See.
I'm baaaacckkkk. Notice I was gone for a while? Well that is because I headed on up to NYC to visit my friend Katie (KJ) with my other bestie Kara. I've decided with the whole moving thing going on this week, instead of showing you all my pictures at once.... I am going to give you my favorites each day. On top of that... I have a my SEVENTH wedding this weekend. Gotta get geared up and ready to party and pack. I'm exhausted just thinking about it... but excited at the same time. You may or may not know the feeling.
On to the reason why you are here tonight, it's "I See, You See" time.
This week's theme: CONTRAST
*Provided by Jenn via Twitter last week
Before we jump into this tonight, I just wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and Meggy and I would LOVE, LOVE it if you came to us with suggestions of theme's. We are open to anything and everything and love the challenge. With me moving to Denver next week, these posts are going to get a lot more interesting with both of us in different cities and having two completely different views on things. Should be an exciting new twist.
Onward we go..... my picture this week is of my friends Katie and Kara. One's blonde and the other is brunette. When I say blonde I mean VERY blonde, when I say brunette, I mean VERY brunette. See for yourself. I took this picture as we were standing "On Top of the Rock" in NYC and the two of them were looking through the binoculars out into the beautiful city.
What was Meggy's view on the theme this week?
What do you all think?

Ya, this is an obvious choice for contrast and all too easy since this past weekend I attended a friend's wedding. The perfect contrast of the white wedding dress and black tux that makes up the new married couple. This photo was taken during their first dance as Mr. & Mrs. The rest of the wedding was filled of dancing, photo booth pics and catching up with friends. A great night.

I See. You See.
Jumping right in today. This week's theme is...
NEW BEGINNINGS
After debating back and forth, Megan and I were questioning our initial "I See, You See." Now... I'm not going to give it to you because if worse comes to worse we may need to use it! BUT, if you all provide us with some suggestions... you'd make our loves a lot easier AND you'd see something you want to see!
With that said, onto my view of this week's theme.
Cheers..... My friend Katie and I just made some major changes in our lives and decided a happy hour was in order to celebrate!
From reading yesterday's blog, you now know that I am moving to Denver in the next couple of week's and I'm excited, sad, pumped, and SAD. Leaving behind some of my favorite people is rough. Let me just tell you. When people say they are moving to a different state and act like it's no big D. They are lying. It's hard. It's fun, but not fun. Why would someone want to leave great people? BUT, it's life. It's a new beginning and I'm grateful for the opportunity that I've been given so step aside fear and scaredy cat Laura... welcome brave new Laura!!
Now from Meggy's POV:

Now from Meggy's POV:
It's no secret that my big new beginning is this growing baby boy in my womb (do people still say womb?). And boy is he making it known...he's kicking and stretching and starting to take up more and more space - hello baby bump. Every morning when I hoist myself out of bed and run to the bathroom to pee, I'm reminded of my new beginnings (coming this holiday season) and overjoyed. Baby boy will start our little family and swiftly move us out of the 'DINK' category. Friends have been sharing in our joy and giving us a few little gifts along the way - like these amazing little baby boy socks. There is nothing cuter than tiny baby things. Hello new beginnings.
Anyone else out there have any new things they'd like to share???

I See, You See.
I always get so excited for Tuesday's purely for the challenge of taking on a challenge of a different theme each week, and seeing what Meggy comes up with compared to what I come up with.
Shall we see what is on the chopping block for this week?
Theme: GLAMOUR
*Provided by or co-worker Jenn via Twitter after our ISUS the other week
Now I by no means feel like I have anything "glamorous" to take pictures of in my every day life...I was kinda worried after realizing my cat wearing heels would not cut it for the post this week. But, after taking an impromptu trip home this week, I realized very quickly what I could do for my "glamour" shot.
My sister Katie! She is drop dead gorgeous in my opinion. She mentioned she was going out to a party this Saturday night so I chased her around the house with my camera hoping to get a glamorous shot of her. Yep... I got exactly what I wanted. I actually ended up with two, but felt this photo had more of a glamour feel to it.. I'll show off my other picture on Wednesday so you will have to come back and check it out!
And here is what Meggy saw this week:
Glamour to me is such a broad term. I think you can find glamour in anything, even in something so simple - for example - I recently "pinned" a simple, yet elegant outfit to Pinterest and then my photo for today is more of the glitz and sparkle side of glamour. I love a little sparkle in life, why not? Even if it's adding a pretty necklace to a simple outfit can go a long way.
